Goodwill Industries International will strengthen its skilled trades programs through clean technology pathways. Funding will support skilled trades training, wraparound services and job placement in appliance repair, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, solar installation and EV charging maintenance.
Hiring Our Heroes (U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation) will build a comprehensive pilot program plan focused on partner identification, curriculum development, site identification, and technology integration. Gable Grant funding will lay the foundation for a transformative program that provides transitioning service members and military spouses with real-world, accredited trades training and small business skills, creating a sustainable talent pipeline for the skilled trades workforce.
Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) will embed AI curriculum into skilled trades programs to emphasize safety and critical thinking through real-world workplace applications. LISC will also establish Pre-Apprenticeships+ Accelerator to support students with wraparound services, including financial coaching and career advancement services to build long-term pathways into the skilled trades.
National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) will expand Community Construction Academies to reach more adult learners through its partnership with the Coalition on Adult and Basic Education (COABE). This model offers free training and industry-recognized credentials including OSHA-10, and craft modules in carpentry, plumbing, HVACR, masonry and electrical disciplines. The foundation is also sponsoring NCCER’s CareerStarter platform, a free service that connects students and job seekers directly with educators, employers and career opportunities.
SkillsUSA will expand skilled trades career pathways through the 2026 National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) and national credentialing programs to engage high school seniors and postsecondary students. This program provides hands-on experience, industry connections and recognized certifications in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, preparing students for workforce success.
